Dear Clients, Employer Partners, Volunteer Sector Partners,
Link Up Employment Services for Persons with Disabilities is pleased to announce receipt of new funding from Social Development Canada (SDC) to provide employment services to persons with disabilities across Canada through the Opportunities Fund.
On April 1 2005, Link Up began providing services to persons with disabilities seeking employment within the Greater Toronto Area that fit the eligibility criteria under the Opportunities Fund. Link Up will be providing these services nationally beginning with service provision in the Greater Vancouver Area in British Columbia and in Winnipeg, Manitoba, within the next month.
Clients served by Link Up must meet the funding criteria of the Opportunities Fund. Included amongst those criteria is a requirement that clients assisted must neither be currently receiving Employment Insurance benefits nor be of Employment Insurance Reachback status.
Link Up looks forward to its partnership with SDC and to its new role as a national organization assisting Canadians with disabilities under the Opportunities Fund. Its hope is to make as great a contribution to job seekers with disabilities in British Columbia and in Manitoba as it has in Ontario over the past 13 years.
Link Up also looks forward to continuing its great relationships with its employers and its voluntary sector partners.
Thank you.
Bob Santos
Executive Director
